ASTM A53 GR A welded steel pipe is also called welded pipe. It is a steel pipe made of steel plate or strip steel after crimping and forming. Generally, the length is 6 meters. ASTM A53 GR A welded steel pipe has simple production process, high production efficiency, more varieties and specifications, and less equipment investment, but the general strength is lower than seamless steel pipe.
The repair welding standard of ASTM A53 GR A welded steel pipe has the following points:
1. Surface defects of longitudinally welded steel pipes must be completely removed.
2. ASTM A53 GR A welded steel pipe should be less than or equal to 5% of the total length of longitudinal welded steel pipes.
3. Multiple weld defects of ASTM A53 GR A welded steel pipe with an interval of less than 100mm should be repaired as a continuous single weld. A single weld of ASTM A53 GR A welded steel pipe should be repaired at least two times 50mm.
4. ASTM A53 GR A welded steel pipes shall not be repaired more than twice each time.
